7 annoying Cliches That Are Common In Yourba Movies: Read on
The Nigerian movie industry has improved tremendously over the last decade. Despite the blockbuster movies produced by our producers, some movie producers just stick to producing “cliche” movies. The Yoruba movie industry is not left out. Give it to them, they have beautiful stories but these stories are usually told wrongly. So today, I will be highlighting some annoying cliches that are common in Yoruba movies.
It’s difficult for you to see a Yoruba movie where there’s no noise.
Cursing is typical with the Yoruba folks. So it’s no surprise that Yoruba movies usually have that one character that won’t stop cursing till the end of the movie.
3) Juju or Spiritualist
No Yoruba movie is complete without a juju man or a spiritualist or a pastor or an Imam.
Like must they eat or make reference to food? When they want to exit a scene, you will hear “ki le ma je” (What will you eat) or “she ki’n gu iyan fun yi” (Should i prepare pounded yam for you?). Just exit the goddamn scene.
5) Irrelevant humor
You will always have someone trying to make dry boring jokes in a Yoruba movie. Like WTF?
